Difference Between Dua And Surah

*

A dua is an inward prayer to Allah, which follows no specific rules or format. It is simply a direct conversation with Allah and a personal supplication by the individual. A dua can be uttered in any language and is simply a way of communicating with Allah in an open and honest way.

A Surah is a portion of the Qur’an that is a specific chapter composed of verses (ayat). Surahs are composed in Arabic and often address a specific theme or topic. They are always recited in order when performing salat (prayer) and are frequently read on their own as a devotional act.
